Kevin Leininger of The News-Sentinel is reporting that Allen County Building Commissioner Dave Fuller has stated representatives of Shiel Sexton told him they hope to begin construction by May 25th. More after the jump. An article by Ben Lanka in today’s Journal Gazette, indicates that construction on the downtown Courtyard by Marriott Hotel might begin soon. This Hotel is the linchpin of the Harrison Square project and has been delayed for months. Some selections from the article: An article in today’s Journal Gazette reports that the Allen County Building Department issued a building permit December 5th to White Lodging. This means construction must begin within 90 days of the issuance date, or another permit will have to be issued. As I reported on November 19th, Sheil Sexton, Indianapolis, is the General Contractor for the project. The article does not verify whether or not White Lodging has received a construction loan for the project. I have learned from the Allen County Building Department that, “the general contractor has been in [to the Building Department] to discuss the project and approvals have been obtained from the State, but they have not yet obtained the building permit.” In addition, the contractor is Sheil Sexton whose headquarters is in Indianapolis with an office in North Carolina as well. |
