Commercial Façade Grant Program results in almost $1.5 Million investment

Before I give you the press release for this morning’s press conference, let me mention that I have been photographing four of the renovations. I haven’t posted many of the photos yet, with the exception of the Hyde Bros. Books. The other projects, which will be posted at some point, that I have been following, include G.I. Joe’s, Knitting Off Broadway and Zesto. I have video taped an interview with Shawna Nicelley, co-owner of G.I. Joe’s as well as taken photographs. I hope to have it posted some time in the next week or two.

Windows of Wells – Post 1

This Sunday, the Wells Area Merchants (WAM!) will hold an auction to raise funds for the Historic Wells Street Bridge Lighting Project. Months ago, artists gathered at Jack & Johnny’s to paint windows in various themes. It is these windows – and one door – that will be auctioned Sunday, October 19, 2008 at 3:00 pm. The auction will be held on the Historic Wells Street Bridge unless the weather does not cooperated. In that event, the auction will be held under a tent. Each day this week through Saturday, two windows will be featured. The windows are available on the outsides of the buildings for viewing.
