Tonight, the Fort Wayne City Council takes up the Communications Budget during the continued 2010 budget hearings.
In tonight’s City Council meeting, Councilman Tim Pape stated he would be, barring the sudden appearance of a 9-1-1 consolidation agreement, moving to eliminate the Communication budget for 2010.
The final segment of the interview from last Friday with Sheriff Ken Fries. The Journal Gazette has an editorial about the City’s announced plans to move to the Renaissance Square building.
Fort Wayne City Council President Tom Smith hosts the monthly Council Call-In program. Last Wednesday, he had as his guest, Allen County Commissioner Nelson Peters. Quite frequently in City Council meetings, we learn interesting things, hear spell-binding anecdotes or other plain ol’ astounding tidbits. With that in mind, I’m initiating a new series. We’ll call it, ‘City Council Revealed’. Sometimes, the posts will be about serious facts and sometimes, as in today’s posts, humorous items. The first item deals with Tim Pape and his word for the day, “Hutzpah!”
Ok, what was that movie with Demi Moore and Robert Redford? Oh wait, that was “An Indecent Proposal”. Ok, so I was off by one word – but if you think about it, that still would have worked as an alternate title for the movie as well. Trust me, the City Council version was way better, although some buttered popcorn and stadium seating would have made the experience better. I digress. In my continuing review of the budget hearings over the month of October, here’s another installment in that epic novel. I think this is working out nicely – this two week hiatus without budget meetings while we get the elections and Veteran’s Day out of the way. First a bit of history to refresh our memory. The Journal Gazette has several articles of interest today. Parkview Editorial:
