    Festival of Gingerbread

    Festival of Gingerbread, part of the 2009 HolidayFest in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana.  To view other events on a particular date, click on the appropriate date in the tags listing below this post.

    Description: The annual Festival of Gingerbread at The History Center.

    Hours:

    • November 28th – exhibit open 9 am to 5 pm; regular admission fee applies
      • Storytelling with Mrs. Claus from 1 to 3 pm
    • November 29th - exhibit open noon to 5 pm; regular admission fee applies
      • Storytelling with Mrs. Claus from 1 to 3 pm
    • November 30th – open 9 am to 5 pm; regular admission fee applies
    • December 1st – regular admission fee applies from 9 am to 5 pm
      • “Free Night at the Festival of Gingerbread” from 5 to 9 pm, courtesy of Indiana Michigan Power
    • December 2nd and 3rd – open 9 am to 5 pm; regular admission fee applies
    • December 4th – 9 am to 8 pm; regular admission fee applies
    • December 5th – exhibit open from 9 am to 5 pm; regular admission applies
      • Visit with Santa Claus from 1 to 4 pm
      • Storytelling with Mrs. Claus from 1 to 3 pm
    • December 6th – exhibit hours are noon to 5 pm; regular admission fee applies
      • “The History of Holiday Traditions” lecture is at 2 pm when Sara Gabbard talks about the history of holiday traditions in different cultures. No additional charge for lecture, regular museum admission applies.
    • December 7th thru December 10th – exhibit hours are 9 am to 5 pm daily; regular admission fee applies
    • December 11th – exhibit hours are 9 am to 8 pm; regular admission fee applies
    • December 12th – exhibit hours are 9 am to 5 pm; regular admission fee applies.  In addition, the following take place this date:
      • Storytelling With Mrs. Claus from 1 to 3 pm
      • The Science of Sugary Structures from noon to 4 pm: Explore sturdy (and not so sturdy) structures and make your own creation using graham crackers, candy, toothpicks and icing. In cooperation with Science Central. Regular admission applies, plus $3 per person.
    • December 13th – exhibit hours are Noon to 5 pm; regular admission fee applies
      • Storytelling With Mrs. Claus from 1 to 3 pm
      • Cookie Decorating Party from 1 to 4 pm – Get creative and decorate your own gingerbread cookie for $1 per cookie. Regular museum admission applies.
