American Red Cross to hold penny drive at Jefferson Pointe
Friday Nites Live as part of local disaster relief campaignOn Friday, Sept. 18, the American Red Cross will join Jefferson Pointe Shopping Center in its Friday Nites Live summer concert series. This week’s band is Unlikely Alibi. This is an effort to raise one-million pennies for local disaster relief as part of the “It’s All About the Lincolns” penny campaign running now through Sept. 30. In addition to collecting donations for the fund, trained volunteers will also educate shoppers and concert attendees on disaster preparedness, including the use of trained disaster search and rescue dogs and the organization’s emergency response vehicle.
Who: American Red Cross volunteers, disaster search and rescue dogs, concert attendees, and Jefferson Pointe patrons.

Where: Jefferson Pointe Shopping Center, located at 1400 W. Jefferson Blvd. in Fort Wayne
Two locations: center fountain and outside Rave Motion Pictures near Portrait Innovations
When: Friday, Sept. 18, from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
